EVERYDAY LIFE
HOW TO PROTECT YOUR BACK
In order to avoid the appearance of back problems, the best possible prevention is to adopt a good posture, regardless of the type of activity (sitting, standing, resting; at work, during leisure time or when physical exercise).
Performing correct body movements will allow you to prevent your muscles, joints, ligaments or organs from being damaged.
DURING YOUR DAILY ACTIVITIES
Avoid as much as possible any movement that causes pain.
Avoid making movements that go beyond the normal limits of your spine's mobility (especially around the neck).
Avoid bending your spine too much, stretching, or working with your arms extended above your head. Take special care when washing your hair. • When you have to lift an object, keep your back straight and bend your knees to let your legs work. The object must be held as close as possible to the body.
Be aware of your posture at all times, and stand up straight.
A third of life is spent in bed. Choose a suitable mattress and adopt a correct sleeping position.
When taking a bath, it is better to sit rather than lie in the bathtub. If you are tired and want to relax, it is best to do so on your bed.
